Early this week, I had the pleasure of meeting the Holdemans out in their beautiful new home in the country. Baby E was just 10 days old, but he wouldn’t sleep for us at all! Regardless, we got some super cute photos of him, as well as his big brother and mommy and daddy. I love meeting new people…one of my favorite parts of my job…and this family was so accommodating and sweet. So glad they chose me to capture these memories! On to the faves…

The Skillens {Family}

Little miss Avery turned THREE this week! Cah-razy. See, Avery’s mama Ginger is my amazingly awesome friend that watches Sutton on Thursdays while I work (my magic…hehe) here at my studio. We’ve been friends for probably about 5 years now, and it seems like we’ve gone through so much life together in that time. We first became friends because of our shared interest in photography…then we just really clicked and started hanging out. Ginger found out she was pregnant, and I got to be there when Avery was born, and then again 2 1/2 years later when little Ezra was born. Ginger came to the delivery room right after I had Sutton and was one of the most emotional people out of everyone. I love our story together. And I love Ginger and her little family. (It’s still so weird to me that she has TWO kids!) We had a fun morning at Botanica this week, and Avery’s Bubba and Gpa even came along to join in on the fun. Here are some of my favorites of this beautiful, sweet family!

Ginger and Joe just celebrated their 7 year anniversary at the end of April. We had to sneak in a few lovey photos in honor of that!

Lacey & Justin {Married}

High school sweethearts! I met Lacey and Justin a…ahem…few years back when they were in high school at our church and I was a youth leader. (Makes me feel old that my youth kids are getting married!) I saw them start dating, grow up together, and become adults in what seemed like a matter of days. It’s so rewarding to see the awesome people they’ve become. Lacey excels at cooking, working with kids, and is crazy creative. Justin is lighthearted, outgoing, and so fun to be around. We had such a great time on their wedding day, and I felt so honored to be a part of it. Here are some highlights from their big day.

Wyatt {2 Years Old}

Holy cuteness. Mr. Wyatt had a birthday a couple months back, and we were finally able to fit in his birthday photos this week. His mama Leslie and I found a wide open space, and let him loose. This was the perfect place for his photos…Wyatt has a genuine joy for being outside that was awesome. He ran all over the place, through fields and the woods, without shoes. Didn’t even notice when he’d fall from running too fast. I hope to make Wyatt’s photos a yearly thing, because he was so much fun. Thanks Leslie, for having an awesome kid (who can count all the way to 15!!).

Sara & Matt {Engaged, Part II}

Sara and Matt met me earlier this week for a quick sunset session at Botanica to finish up the second half of their engagement session. We had amazing light, and I LOVE how these turned out! Definitely helped that these two are super fun and crazy. During our shoot, Matt even puffed out his chest to show the other ducks who was the alpha male, lol. Wow. Big thanks to the happy couple for being flexible with my ridiculous schedule! Can’t wait for your wedding this October. Here are my faves.

Rachael + Matt {Belly}

Just call me Auntie Gina! My best friend Rachael is having a baby this June, and last weekend, I had the honor of going up to Kansas City to throw her a baby shower and take her maternity photos. Rachael and Matt are beautiful people. Period. I can’t imagine the cuteness that will happen once this little girl makes her appearance. It’s been hard living so far away during Rachael’s pregnancy…I didn’t really get to see her big belly til just now, and she’s already 31 weeks along…though I guess now I know how she felt during my pregnancy. Rach and I were reminiscing about how different our conversations are now from when we first met in college. We used to talk about our boyfriends and classes, now we talk about babies and budgets. I guess we’re real grown-ups. I love these two (three!) dearly, they’re like family to us! I was so happy to be able to take these photos for them that I know they’ll look back on years from now. Here are my faves.

…and here’s Matt, ~~tormenting~~ playing with my kid. Sutton loves him, but it was bedtime by this point and he WANTED THAT STICK. Gosh. And a duck…that stood on one leg. Weird.
