Helloooooooooooooooo friends!

How is everyone holding up after the holidays? My belt got quite a bit tighter due to all the Christmas goodies, so…………I’m working on that. :)

I just wanted to update you all on portrait sessions for this spring and summer. I will be drastically limiting the number of sessions that I book each week since my 2012 wedding schedule is awesomely ridiculous. In order to keep my sanity and to be able to see my hubby and baby boy once in awhile, weekends are not available for portrait sessions, and week day sessions will be limited.

I’m already starting to book for spring and summer, so if you’d like to get on my calendar, please contact me today! Thanks so much for understanding…Happy 2012!

Just wanted to give you all a heads up that the sale on digital negatives will be ending with 2011. In order to get the sale prices listed below, you must place your order by midnight on December 31, 2011.

*ALL images from any portrait session can be purchased for just $100.

*ALL images from any wedding can be purchased for just $350.

*SINGLE images from any portrait session or wedding can be purchased for just $7 each.

This one-of-a-kind sale was designed to thank you loyal customers for being awesome and also to make the transition back to being a home-based business smoother. You all have been so great and have exceeded my expectations! So much so that…if you book a spring session by the same deadline of midnight on December 31, 2011, you can lock in the sale price on your digital negatives! Hip hip hooray!

Regular prices on digital negatives will resume 12:01am January 1, 2012. Got it? Good. You’re so smart.

Here’s a photo of my hubby Adam and cute baby Sutton being SUPER EXCITED about the awesome sale!

Josh {Senior}

Meet Josh….finally, a senior boy! It was fun to photograph a guy since I haven’t for quite awhile. I took his older brother’s senior photos about 3 years ago, and will hopefully photograph the younger brother 3 years from now! Josh was super laid back and easy-going. He got the ducks that were in the river nearby to swarm us so he had them in the background of a few of his photos. :) Big thanks to Josh and his mom Cindy for being so flexible with rescheduling his session!

I hope everyone had a fantastic Thanksgiving! Crazily, it’s now time to think ahead to Christmas, and more specifically Christmas cards. The deadline to order your Christmas cards is December 5th. We will design and finalize them in the week or so after that, and get them to you in time to send them out for Christmas! Custom Christmas cards are hot hot hot at GDP, and you should totally get some! :)

And because every post is more fun with a photo, here’s one I took while we were camping over Thanksgiving out in the country.

Hannah {Senior}

Seniors, Posted on: Nov, 22

I took Hannah’s older sister’s photos a couple years ago, and we had to reschedule her session due to wind. This year, there was a downpour on Hannah’s session date! We went ahead and shot a few in my studio (see the post below…) and then finished up the next week. Hannah had all kinds of ideas for her senior photos and it was fun to make them happen. I LOVED her creativity. She’s really into theater and singing so we finished up her session at her high school in the theater and at the piano. Enjoy the sneak peek!

Many of you know, I recently moved my business back to my home after working at a downtown location for the past few years. I’m loving being back at home, and being able to spend more time with my family! We decided to make a really awesome space for me to work in, meet clients in, and even take indoor photos in. We were lucky enough to already have a separate building in our backyard that my husband had used as a shop since we moved here in 2008. I’m also lucky enough to have an amazing father-in-law, Ed, who knows how to make pretty much anything I could dream up.

We started with an unfinished space with concrete floors and nasty windows, and Ed was able to see my vision and transform it into the awesomeness that it is today! I’m so excited to finally share some photos with you of our finished studio! You have to make an appointment to come by and see it in person. I also hope to have an open house in the spring, so stay tuned!

Rachel {Senior}

Rachel is my beautiful cousin, and I don’t care how cliche it is…I can’t believe she’s a senior! See, before Rachel, I had no cousins. Notta one. Then my aunt and uncle decided to get with it, and had three awesome girls, who are now my only cousins in the world. Rachel and I had been talking about her senior shoot for ages, and we had such a great time. She’s not from Wichita, so it was fun going around downtown and showing her cool spots. She even came over beforehand so I could work a little makeup magic on her. :) And…she’s an aspiring photographer! How cool is that. Two photographers in the family. Love it. Here are my favorites of my little (now OLD) cousin!

Have you thought about sending out Christmas cards yet?

Well, you should!

And you should let me design them for you! We’ve got plenty of paper, size, and folding options, so gimme a call or shoot me an email to discuss what you want for your custom Christmas card.

Happy Holidays…be sure to plan ahead! :)

*Sigh*

Natalie and I will always have a connection. After our shoot last week, we came back to where we’d parked our cars to find that we both had had a window smashed and both of our purses were stolen. Can you believe that? Some people…ugh.

BUT! Natalie is just awesome. I mean it. I thoroughly enjoyed getting to know her and her mom Becky during our shoot. We’d had to reschedule our original session date due to wind (Kansas wind + long hair = no bueno), and ended up with another windy, albeit less windy, day. We decided to go ahead and I’m glad we did because we had some great temps and were able to find some spots that were blocked from the wind. We worked together to bring out her inner model and got some great photos of her at this fun stage in her life! I have to admit that the sunset ones are my faves. Here’s the sneak peek!

Ayrton {Senior}

Seniors, Posted on: Oct, 12

Last week I met Ayrton (cool name!!) and his mom for a morning session, which I haven’t done in years. It was kinda neat to be up to see the sun rise. :) We got sprinkled on a bit, but luckily Ayrton is a go-with-the-flow kinda guy and it didn’t bother him one bit. Ayrton reminded me so much of my brother Michael. The same face, same expressions…crazy. I felt like I was photographing his long-lost twin…I just couldn’t get over it.  Minus the 10-year age difference. :) Had such a fun morning with this super sweet guy and his mom, enjoy the preview!
