Last week I had the pleasure of spending an afternoon with Rachael and Westin, who were just so much fun. I love it when I click with couples, and I *think* they liked me too. :) Their dog, Miller stole my heart from the get-go when she came into my studio and went and sat under my desk and stared at me with those sad puppy-dog eyes. Melt. We teased her a bit…talking about walks and treats…to get her to be interested in posing, but she did great (and hopefully forgives us). Had a great time getting to know you two!

It’s so fun to watch two people over the years, and to see a bit of their love story. Lacey and Justin met in high school, when they were in the same youth group at our church. I was a youth leader back then, so I’ve known them since they were itty bitty. :) So neat to see a couple as separate people, to see them come together, and then to see them get married. I can’t wait for the big day in April! Thanks for a great afternoon, you two. I had fun mudding in Justin’s truck and eating Cocoa Dolce with you. Eeeeek!!! You’re getting maaaaarried!

Helloooooooooooooooo friends!

How is everyone holding up after the holidays? My belt got quite a bit tighter due to all the Christmas goodies, so…………I’m working on that. :)

I just wanted to update you all on portrait sessions for this spring and summer. I will be drastically limiting the number of sessions that I book each week since my 2012 wedding schedule is awesomely ridiculous. In order to keep my sanity and to be able to see my hubby and baby boy once in awhile, weekends are not available for portrait sessions, and week day sessions will be limited.

I’m already starting to book for spring and summer, so if you’d like to get on my calendar, please contact me today! Thanks so much for understanding…Happy 2012!

Ryan and Risa are some of our dearest friends. And we’ve been talking about this photo shoot about as long as we’ve known each other, so…4 years maybe? That’s a lot of pressure! Just kidding. These two are so beautiful that it was basically impossible to take bad photos of them. We got together on their 5 year anniversary for a fun photo shoot in the middle of their date day. I think that’s a fantastic way to spend your anniversary. :) We plan to do more in the spring, but I have to admit we had pretty great weather for late December. Congrats on 5 years you two! Love you!

Erica and Isaac are a pretty lucky couple. Aside from both being awesome, they are getting married in April in MEXICO! Jealous? Me too. We joked about me going down there for a vacation and to photograph the wedding, but alas it’s not in the budget. I suppose I will survive. We were also lucky enough to find a date at the end of December amongst their busy schedule and my holiday get-togethers to do their engagement session…and we got GREAT weather! For December (and now January) in Kansas, we’ve sure had it great this year (knock on wood). Here are the faves from their session in downtown Wichita.

Just wanted to give you all a heads up that the sale on digital negatives will be ending with 2011. In order to get the sale prices listed below, you must place your order by midnight on December 31, 2011.

*ALL images from any portrait session can be purchased for just $100.

*ALL images from any wedding can be purchased for just $350.

*SINGLE images from any portrait session or wedding can be purchased for just $7 each.

This one-of-a-kind sale was designed to thank you loyal customers for being awesome and also to make the transition back to being a home-based business smoother. You all have been so great and have exceeded my expectations! So much so that…if you book a spring session by the same deadline of midnight on December 31, 2011, you can lock in the sale price on your digital negatives! Hip hip hooray!

Regular prices on digital negatives will resume 12:01am January 1, 2012. Got it? Good. You’re so smart.

Here’s a photo of my hubby Adam and cute baby Sutton being SUPER EXCITED about the awesome sale!

Sara & Matt {Engaged}

Engagements, Posted on: Dec, 13

Sara and Matt are laid back and artsy. Odds are, if you possess those two qualities, we’ll get along. And get along, we did! :) We had a great time doing the first half of their engagement session in the cooooold last week. Matt was making all kinds of jokes and being silly to make Sara laugh because he “likes real smiles.” I approve. Can’t wait to spend more time with you two this spring, here are the faves for now!

Melissa and I have known each other for several years through church…I even took her senior photos! And now she’s getting married! Craziness. I loved getting to know her better and meeting Cody at our session last week. They’re a great couple who are so cute together! They met while working at the Warren Theatres here in Wichita, so we had to make a stop there for some photos of where they first fell in love. Here are the faves.

I hope everyone had a fantastic Thanksgiving! Crazily, it’s now time to think ahead to Christmas, and more specifically Christmas cards. The deadline to order your Christmas cards is December 5th. We will design and finalize them in the week or so after that, and get them to you in time to send them out for Christmas! Custom Christmas cards are hot hot hot at GDP, and you should totally get some! :)

And because every post is more fun with a photo, here’s one I took while we were camping over Thanksgiving out in the country.
