Ivy & Luke {Expecting}

Ivy and Luke are a really neat couple that I had the privilege of photographing last week. I just couldn’t believe how cute and small Ivy’s belly was for being 32 weeks. I was massive by that point. 
We started out at my studio and got some great intimate photos of Ivy and her belly…we even put Luke in a few. I guess he’s pretty important too. We headed downtown to finish up our session, and it was coooooold. We all had numb limbs by the end of the shoot. Who cares though, we got some awesome photos. Here are my faves.

Helloooooooooooooooo friends!
How is everyone holding up after the holidays? My belt got quite a bit tighter due to all the Christmas goodies, so…………I’m working on that.
I just wanted to update you all on portrait sessions for this spring and summer. I will be drastically limiting the number of sessions that I book each week since my 2012 wedding schedule is awesomely ridiculous. In order to keep my sanity and to be able to see my hubby and baby boy once in awhile, weekends are not available for portrait sessions, and week day sessions will be limited.
I’m already starting to book for spring and summer, so if you’d like to get on my calendar, please contact me today! Thanks so much for understanding…Happy 2012!

Christmas Card Deadline

I hope everyone had a fantastic Thanksgiving! Crazily, it’s now time to think ahead to Christmas, and more specifically Christmas cards. The deadline to order your Christmas cards is December 5th. We will design and finalize them in the week or so after that, and get them to you in time to send them out for Christmas! Custom Christmas cards are hot hot hot at GDP, and you should totally get some!
And because every post is more fun with a photo, here’s one I took while we were camping over Thanksgiving out in the country.
The Studio

Many of you know, I recently moved my business back to my home after working at a downtown location for the past few years. I’m loving being back at home, and being able to spend more time with my family! We decided to make a really awesome space for me to work in, meet clients in, and even take indoor photos in. We were lucky enough to already have a separate building in our backyard that my husband had used as a shop since we moved here in 2008. I’m also lucky enough to have an amazing father-in-law, Ed, who knows how to make pretty much anything I could dream up.
We started with an unfinished space with concrete floors and nasty windows, and Ed was able to see my vision and transform it into the awesomeness that it is today! I’m so excited to finally share some photos with you of our finished studio! You have to make an appointment to come by and see it in person. I also hope to have an open house in the spring, so stay tuned!

Ginger, Joe, & Avery {+ One}

Ginger is one of my closest, dearest friends, and I was so excited to take her maternity photos last night. She and Joe are expecting their second little baby next month, and pregnancy sure suits her! Although she SAYS this is the last one…who knows! 
Belly photos this time around were much different than last time – she has this adorable little 2-year-old to add into the mix. Avery is the smartest kid I know and she has such spunk and energy. Love it. I can’t wait til this little one (they haven’t found out if the baby’s a boy or a girl, can you believe it?!) makes an appearance, birth photos to come! And another fun surprise – Ginger’s sister Sage (who is my fabulous hairdresser) is also pregnant! Just a couple months behind Ginger. Preggo sisters…you don’t get to photograph that every day! Their firstborns are six months apart, and they’re best friends. And now the new babies will be even closer. Enjoy the beautiful Ginger and her family!
